Food review: Stockholm -Food Tours Stockholm
In late August 2017 we were in Stockholm, Sweden before a cruise. We were booked on a food tour with Food Tours Stockholm. Our amazing visit with Gunilla (our guide) to over eight facilities included samples of bear mousse, elk meat, wild boar and other traditional fare for the region. Our experience
Part of the fun of walking food tours and finding the starting point, and trying to guess what we are going to be trying out. On this tour, we met at a local gourmet store, and looked around until everyone showed up. Then we met our guide and our first same was amazing seafood! Then we walked to the Urban Deli, the central market in Stockholm. We absolutely love visiting markets! Here we visited Hell Bergs, Fromageriet, Finska Butiken (a deli), Hav, and Kajsas Fisk. All of them had wonderful samples, prepared and well presented.
We then moved on to Tennstopet, a traditional restaurant for some meatballs (see below). Then Osterqvist for italian charcuterie and Bakery & Spice for the amazing local baked fare. One of my favorites Chokladfabriken for the most amazing liquorice chocolate. This was one of the amazing discoveries of this vacation! Thank goodness we had a bit of a walk to the next stop, to work off all that chocolate. We finished up at Rorstrands Slott in the dungeon for tea!
A great tour, and a great selection of food. Absolutely amazing!
