Finally, a chance to enjoy a wonderful wine-paired dinner at House of Boateng

This restaurant has been on our list to try for many years. There just never seemed to be the right occasion to get us out to Langford to enjoy it. We recently had that opportunity, joining our friends Dany and Colette for a lovely wine-paired dinner out at House of Boateng in Langford.

House of Boateng is a well-known well respected restaurant here on Vancouver Island. Chef Castro and his exceptional culinary team have been honored as Chef of the Year in Victoria, BC. He is known as much for the beautiful flavours his dishes bring to the table as for the innovative and stunning presentation a diner is presented.

This particular dinner was a wine pairing dinner at House of Boateng with Vancouver Island’s own Blue Grouse Estate Winery.

Blue Grouse Estate Winery was just recently acquired by the Jackson Family. Stacey Hornemann, the Winemaker from the winery was at the dinner to speak about the wines at each course. Chef Castro joined her by introducing each paired dish.

My particular favorite course was the West Coast Salad with the tuna and soba noodles. Each course was artistically presented, balanced in flavours and well complimented by the wines.

Well done from two of our own Vancouver Island ‘products’! Give them both a try if you have the opportunity!
